Before the season begins, you will need to sign up through our online payment
system by clicking the Sign Up
link here or on the home page. Follow the instructions
to enter your Visa or MasterCard payment through PayPal.
If you are not a member of PayPal, you will be asked
to follow the quick and easy instructions for becoming
a member (free of charge). A space on the sign
up form will enable you to list friends that you would
like to play with in the same league. Once you
sign up for a league, you will be sent an email with
a username and password to log in and manage your team.
You may also enter the contest by sending a
personal check or money order to: AP Sports, 8001 Seneca Court, Fort Worth,
Texas 76137. Include your name, address, and email address with payment.
Once we receive payment, you will be contacted through mail or email with your
username and password for managing your team. |

Deadline: |
|
The deadline for entry into this year's fantasy
baseball game will be 11:59 p.m. (Central Standard Time) on Sunday, March 31, 2002. Mailed entries must be
postmarked by Sunday, March 24, 2002 and received no later than Saturday, March
30, 2002. |

To
enter the contest, there is a one-time entry fee of $35.
Additional teams are $25. There is a $5 fee for picking up a new player
not currently on your roster (limit 10 pickups per season). If you know
that you will be using your maximum of 10 pickups during the season, you may
purchase all 10 pickups prior to the season for $40 ($4/each).
There are no fees for switching players from your bench to your starting lineup.
All fees are payable in U.S. funds.

Bench:
The
12 players on your bench may be from any position
and have any salary.
Salary
Cap and Player Salaries:
The $50,000,000 salary cap, as well as the player
salaries and player positions are assigned by AP Sports
and do not change. For player salaries, click
here.
You
can select players at any time before or during the contest. Players can be
selected for your starting lineup and bench effective immediately upon
submitting your entry. A player's salary has been determined by AP Sports based
on the player’s performance during the previous season and will remain the
same for the entire 2002 season.
Unlisted
Players:
Players not listed on the contest web site are not available for your team until
added to the database and assigned a salary. To request that an unlisted player
be added to the player list in order to be selected, please email
us. |

Scoring
System:
Points are accumulated throughout the season for all 28 starting players. The
contest begins on Monday, April 1, 2002, and ends on Sunday, September 29,
2002, spanning the entire baseball season.
All points
accumulated by the players in your starting lineup, regardless of what position
they actually play during the contest, contribute to your team's point total.
Pitchers'
hitting points do not count. Hitters' pitching points do not count.
Points
by a player on your bench, points by a player before being added to your team,
and points by a player after being dropped from your team do not contribute to
your team's point total. |

Weekly
Lineups:
Owners have the opportunity to make changes twice a week.
The deadlines for making transactions for the week are 11:59 p.m. Central
time on Saturday and Wednesday.
Any bench switches or new player pickups that are not submitted on time will NOT
be taken. No exceptions! The deadlines for transactions are as
follows:
To modify your team, login using
your user ID and password, modify your starting lineup within the constraints of
the $50,000,000 salary cap, and your bench, as needed, and submit the
modifications. There are two types of modifications: (1) bench switch and (2)
new player purchase.
Before the
contest begins (until 11:59 p.m. CST, Sunday, March 31, 2002), all
modifications to your team (bench switches and new player purchases) are
unlimited. |

Bench
Switch:
A bench switch
occurs when you replace a player in your starting lineup with a player from your
bench. Bench switches are unlimited during the contest and must involve players
listed at the same position.
New
Player Purchase:
A new player
purchase occurs when you add a new player to either your starting lineup or
bench and drop a player from your team. You can purchase any listed player not
on your current team. New player purchases are limited to 10 during the contest
and must involve players listed at the same position when you are dropping a
player from your starting lineup.

To modify your team via the web site during the contest, there are additional

To determine results in league and overall
competition, teams are ranked from first to last by each team's point total. The
team with the highest point total finishes first and the team with the lowest
point total finishes last.
Prizes are awarded to the teams with the highest
point totals, as follows: at contest's end to the top five (5) overall teams,
and at contest's end to the top five (5) teams in each league, according to the
following schedule: |

*Fourth
and fifth place finishes in the league will receive a free entry into next
year’s contest.
In the event of a tie, cash
prizes will be added together and divided evenly among those who have tied. In
the event that a league does not contain 25 teams, prizes may be pro-rated.
Please allow 6-8 weeks from the
conclusion of the contest to receive your prize. Prizes may be prorated based on
the number of entrants or amount of entry fees received.

Entry:
To enter AP Sports’ contest via the
Internet, you must complete the registration and entry forms available at http://www.internetfantasybaseball.com.
There is no limit to the number of entries allowed by an individual in the
contest. All Internet entries must be paid by credit card using PayPal,
with either
MasterCard, Visa, or your checking account, and must be received by 11.59 PM
CST, Sunday, March 31, 2002.
Eligibility:
The contest is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age.
Individuals who are not at least 18 years of age can enter only with permission
of a parent or legal guardian. Void where prohibited by law.
Game of
Skill:
The contest is a game of skill. Winners are determined
by the objective criteria listed in the Rules.
Notification:
Winners are notified by email or regular mail within 30 days after the
official final league and overall results (and associated winners) are posted at
the conclusion of the contest. Winners are also posted on our web site. Any
prize notification returned as undeliverable may result in disqualification and
selection of an alternate winner.
By accepting any prize, the
winners grant permission to AP Sports to use their names and/or likenesses for
publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation, unless
prohibited by law.
Unforeseen
Events:
AP Sports is not responsible if, for
any reason, the Internet portion of the game is not capable of running as
planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized
intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control
of AP Sports which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness,
integrity, or proper conduct of this game. AP Sports assumes no responsibility
for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay in operation
with transmission, communication, line failure, theft, destruction, or
unauthorized access to game activities submitted via the Internet. AP Sports is
not responsible for any problem or technical malfunction of any computer on-line
system, server, equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry or trade to
be applied to a player's account due to technical problems or traffic congestion
on the Internet or at any web site, including any injury or damage to a player's
computer related to or resulting from participation in this game (including,
without limitation, damage by virus).
Disclaimers:
AP Sports is not responsible for any late, lost,
incomplete, or damaged entries, as well as any contest
disruptions, injuries, losses or damages caused by
events beyond the control of AP Sports or any printing
or typographical errors in any materials associated
with the contest. AP Sports is not in any way responsible
or liable for any damage, loss or injury resulting
from participation in the contest and/or acceptance
and use of any prize won.
The contest and web site are not sponsored
or endorsed by Major League Baseball or the Major
League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA).

One request per household. One
request per envelope. All requests must be received by Sunday, March 31, 2002.
Release:
By participating in the contest, you release and agree to hold harmless AP
Sports, its sponsors, parent companies, affiliates, directors, officers,
employees and agencies from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs,
injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with
the contest or acceptance, possession, or use of any prize (including, without
limitation, claims, costs, injuries and losses related to personal injuries,
death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy,
defamation or portrayal in a false light, whether intentional or unintentional),
whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or
